Internet Services
The Internet is an appropriate solution in a variety of circumstances, and
we have many years of experience in using it. It can be considered by
some as an application in its own right, and in order to be fully buzzword compliant,
we have a section on Internet issues here.
DSL/Broadband
We are happy to supply and fit SDSL, ADSL (sometimes known as Broadband),
ISDN and other forms of Internet connectivity for individuals and companies,
whether clients or not. We will also take on and support clients stuck with BT
Broadband .
Our supplied ADSL/Broadband service offers a reliable two-way service
(unlike BT's dynamic addressing) and is ideal for Unix and Windows server
applications, VPN, video conferencing and other full-strength uses.
Not only do we connect the wires for you, we configure your network to work
correctly with it, and should anything go wrong we'll be around (in person) to
sort it out. If you prefer hanging onto a telephone line for hours in order to
speak to a gap-year student reading from a script you might prefer to buy your
broadband from elsewhere.
We also don't sign you up for a 12-month contract or any similar nonsense.
If you'd prefer to be tied into a 12-month contract, try NTL or BT. We're
confident enough that we let you cancel the deal any time you like.
Ask us about very specialised ADSL services, such as multiple-line bonding
(proper multilink-PPP, not round-robin), 1:1 contention ratios and IPStream 8000.
Email
Does your organisation need proper email? Talk to us about installing and
running your own postoffice, especially with an ADSL/Broadband connection. If
you're on a really tight budget you can still do this using a dial-up modem.
We normally use the excellent VPOP3 email server for Windows environments,
which is exceptionally powerful whilst still being user configurable. For
larger installations we recommend Unix because Unix is more stable than
Windows by a long way.
Spam Control
Don't you just hate it? If it's bringing your mail system down, talk to us.
Hosting
Yes, we can host web sites too. We've got our own servers (not
shared, not reselling). As well as hosting web sites we can host anything else
requiring Unix and a fast Internet connection.
If your hosting needs are straightforward, why not take a look at Direct
Connection (now known as Netscalibur)
